“As an artist, composer, and producer, living in lockdown has gifted the unique opportunity to write a new album and to record some of my favourite songs. ‘Forever Young’ is the first of many. A truly wonderful song that was first recorded by Alphaville in 1984 and reimagined by Youth Group in 2006, it has forever resonated with me. Yet given the imbroglio within which humanity finds itself at present, today I find the lyric illuminating and particularly poignant. Appearing cast in clouds of depression, ‘Forever Young’ calls upon one to face the sun and embrace the moment, inspired by the madness of music, the brilliance of youth, and its sense of immortality. In this sense, it’s an alluring call to arms during difficult times. I’m very proud of this version, so I hope with humility that you will love it too.” – Steve Balbi
