My Sunshine 03:07
Hello and welcome to the show now I’m glad that you could make it Freedom from the dizzy throng into a mono world I’ve got Sunshine on a six string Sweet Lozzie’s gonna beat it Anyone can sing along the elevator’s wide An old uniform In the here and now It’s not a crass disguise I’m nothing without you You’re my sunshine Sweet soul sunshine You’re my sunshine In this hazy world Can we forget about the clock now? The reason I wanna lose it I wanna take you back in time, put on a phase tonight I’m mock tired of the new thing You know I wanna shake it Put on your rocket boots and count down your mind And we can turn it up In the here and now Like the troubadour divine I vanish without you You’re my sunshine Sweet soul sunshine You’re my sunshine In this hazy world I can’t explain this song without you Rise and fall the rock star died tonight Drawn to another world Leave the golden days behind That’s alright La, la, la, la, la… You know it’s written in stone, yeah? I know you wanna rock it You’re my sunshine Sweet soul sunshine You’re my sunshine Sweet song sunshine You’re my good time Stay my sunshine

Wonderful 05:28
I’m gonna try for you Though I’m sick of it all I’ll do anything I have to do I’d even die for you I’d take the fall But I believe we can make it through And I know I’ve let you down When your hurt enough I finally wanna work it out And when everything’s in doubt It’s plain to see it’s you I can’t live without With or without I believe you’re from another world From outer space from the sky you fell into mine You’re wonderful I can’t explain not like the other girls You’re supernatural divine you fell into my arms You’re wonderful I know I hide from you And I feel the shame Because I know what it does to you And I won’t take the risk But I’ll take the blame For everything I put you through And when you’ve finally had enough You cry to me you say you wanna break it up And when I think I’ve said enough It starts again and then I say too bloody much And I get stuck I believe you’re from another world From outer space from the sky you fell into mine You’re wonderful I can’t explain not like the other girls You’re supernatural divine you fell into my arms You’re wonderful You came to me just like a miracle Dressed in a hippy tee Just one kiss and now we’ve got a family Your everything I thought that I didn’t want And everything I know that I need You had me on the ropes And now you’ve got me on my knees Please, please, please… I believe you’re from another world From outer space from the sky you fell into mine You’re wonderful I can’t explain not like the other girls Your supernatural ooh.... Wonderful

All I Own Is 02:55
Sitting in my house Playing my guitar Drinking from my favourite cup Sitting in my house I wonder at my kids And my loving wife My messed-up cat and long-toothed dog Living in my life But all I own is now Walking down my road As my life unfolds Lost my way and found my way Walking down my road I think about my faith While I write this song I’m not sure what I believe in But I think it’s simply love And all I own All I own is now It’s time And the moments we are chasing ‘cause we can’t control the sun and moon I’ve tried But the more I try the more I find that in the end that I just lose I have so many things Oh my life is full I know that I can’t take them out I think I know for sure That all I own All I own All I own is...

You’re looking rainbow but you’re really dark Face of an angel but you bite like a shark Some kind of voodoo got you out o’ your tree It’s Terry Menopause, emotional thief And I know, I know he’s all over you You pushed the button but you don’t like war You blew up sanity strew brains on the floor His pointed finger plastic trick gun at aim It’s Terry Menopause causing you pain And I know, I know, he’s all over you Yeah, I know… I’ll take my medicine but I’m not sick I’m suffocating and behaving like a brick Like Annie Picket lost her head in the washing machine It’s Terry Menopause coming for me And I know, I know, he’s all over you I know, I know, he’s all over you And I know oh, he’s all over you

Sorry 03:55
I left the world on your shoulders I strung your heart out to dry I wasn’t man enough to hold you I wasn’t man enough to try I said this was forever Till the end of never died The road I took was getting high I sang you one last lullaby, bye Oh I made a mistake And I know it’s too late But I want to say sorry Oh I left a bad taste and it might be too late But I’ve got to say sorry Sorry for the things I’ve done I couldn’t feel for a long time I had to fix for the shame I never gave you my attention I let you sit there in pain Years have passed and I know So many things I did were wrong The road I took was just a lie I sang you one last lullaby, bye Oh I made a mistake And I know it’s too late But I want to say sorry Oh I left a bad taste and it might be too late But I’ve got to say sorry Sorry for the things I’ve done Oh I made a mistake And I know it’s too late But I want to say sorry Oh I left a bad taste I’m sorry for the things I’ve done I’m sorry for the people I hurt I’m sorry for the trust I slurred I’m sorry for the bridges I burned Sorry for the things I’ve done…

I can see the tears set in your hair I know that you pretend that’s oh so clear Don’t make it right Don’t make it right So you found that love was just a hypocrite He showered you with gifts and all that sick Don’t make it right Don’t make it right And you can take it any way you want But pseudo love is what you’ve got Yeah, you can sing a happy song Don’t make it right He’s gonna tear your heart again You’re gonna turn a blind and justify (Don’t make it right) Don’t make it right (Don’t make it right) Don’t make it right There’s nothing you can do if you stay here The life you live is high but that my dear Don’t make it right Don’t make it right And you know he’s gonna let you down You don’t have to stick around You know he’ll say he’s gonna try (To make it right) He’s gonna tear your heart again You’re gonna turn a blind and justify (Don’t you make it right) Don’t make it right (Don’t make it right) Don’t make it right (Don’t you make it right) I think you know the end is almost here I know it’s hard to leave and face the fear To make it right, to make it right You’ve got to find a start again I know you’ll be fine, if you try (To make it right) To make it right (To make it right) To make it right (To make it right) Even though I love you so Don’t make it right I might have to let you go To make it right

Dreamers Do 04:21
There’s a loop that’s playing ‘round in my head A utopian kind of scene It’s immaterial and everything is free And you only take what you need There’s no hurry you don’t have the time You can be mean but you want to be kind, by design I’m a dreamer too and I’m just like you And you know we’re not the only ones Dreamers do what dreamers do When the days are dark we just paint the sun It’s hard to find peace in this dressed up world We’re so busy on the daily grind Designer lucky but some don’t have shoes Walking round like friggin’ porcupines If you slow it down and face the facts All we’re chasing is a heart attack Are you like that? I’m a dreamer too and I’m just like you And you know we’re not the only ones Dreamers do what dreamers do When the days are dark we just paint the sun I fantasise Love to all the people Planetary people (If everybody shares in what might be a simple dream, we can just be dreamers for a day) The water’s muddy, got the crocodile blues You’re a dreamer too and I’m just like you And you know we’re not the only ones Dreamers do what dreamers do When the days are dark we just paint the sun Dream on…

about

The COVID-19 takedown has meant many things to many people. For the creative chameleon, Steve Balbi, it was time to peel-back yet another layer of skin to reveal an entirely new pigment – an iridescent sunburst orange in colour, melody and tone. Suitably titled 'I Think I Know For Sure', this new fabric of songs takes the form of a Limited Edition 12” Vinyl, which first emerged on Friday 21 August to coincide with the digital release of its first single, ‘All I Own Is’.

The digital version of 'I Think I Know For Sure' is now available for download on all streaming platforms.

Reflecting upon living in isolation, Balbi concedes, “It allowed me to sit back, slow down, and take stock. It became clear to me what really matters. Simply, family, friends and creativity are my world. I willingly went back to basics and was inspired to make a body of work that echoes the music that inspired me as a child. It feels as though this record has been waiting for me for years. And it’s the opposite of what seems to be popular right now. Perhaps for that reason alone, I love it even more. Well, I think I know, for sure.”

I Think I Know For Sure was produced by Balbi, who makes every noise on every song also; with a little help from Pete Drummond, who plays the drums on ‘Sorry’ and ‘Make It Right’. Featuring seven songs that posit us back to the future, this new fabric of material was woven and written in its entirety by Balbi, at his home studio in Sydney, mixed by Tony Wall at Kiln, and mastered by Paul Gomersall in Byron.
